Minecraft: Customize World Settings

I wanted to see how the world generation works. Therefore I made this "time-lapse" of it. It is kinda raw and you'll have to make your own conclusions on it, but hopefully it'll be helpful.
I would love to find correct settings for a world that would be somewhere in between normal and amplified. A world that wouldn't be so laggy like amplified, but also a bit more epic than the normal is. If you want to help with this search, just post all the different setting values you found in the comments... I would appreciate it :-)
