Minecraft FTB/Feed The Beast Tutorial - Smart Power Grid To Conserve Generator Fuel
This tutorial shows how to make a smart power grid to conserve generator fuel. Typically, if all the EU storage devices in a power grid are full then any generators in the power grid will be off.
Here is the problem: If you do something that consumes a small amount of EU then all of the generators will kick on and the storage devices will charge back up almost instantly. But all of the EU being generated by the generators gets wasted because the EU has no where to go.
The solution is to use another storage device to store this excess EU. The next time there is a demand on the power grid the excess EU will be consumed before the generators kick back on.
The setup in this video uses redpower logic to control when the generators kick off and on. The control circuit uses an MFE, a couple of NOT gates, a timer, a pulse former,an EU-splitter, and a state cell.
