➡ Rules For This Month's MHC Challenge
The seed for the February challenge is 73, Large Biome. It's called The Underground Challenge.
The rules are:
You must get below ground (no sightline to the sky) by sundown the first day, and stay underground (no sightline) for the remainder of the challenge, which is 8 days since Feb is a short month. The entire Nether is considered underground.
You may not sleep in beds.
New rule for passive mobs. I've been tweaking the rules every month based on experiences in the challenges. You may not harm passive mobs directly or indirectly, with certain exceptions. Breedable food animals (cows pigs chickens) may be killed after you have produced an equal number of baby mobs of that species through breeding. Non-breedable non-food passive mobs may be killed if you have a strong need for their drops that cannot be met in another way, and you must use the drops.
Use of alternate world info is prohibited. Example: You can't make a creative world, find where the diamonds are, and go straight to them.
AFK crop growth or mob grinding is prohibited.
All gameplay must be on-camera at normal speed.
Brightness above 100% is prohibited.
Hardcore mode, Vanilla Minecraft (no mods), no hacks, no tweaks, no cheating. Current version.
Each episode is one Minecraft day and night (about 20 minutes) starting in the morning and ending when the zombies burn, or 20 minutes of game play if underground and you don't have a clock. Clocks are encouraged. I realize daytimes may get messed up on servers for team players so default to 20 minutes of gameplay per episode.
Post one episode each Monday and Friday in February (plus or minus one day).
The two categories are Singleplayer and Teams.
Winner will be judged based on who has accomplished the most. My judgment is unquestioned and final, but it's not about winning. It's about challenging yourself, having fun, and being part of the MHC community.
