Minecraft has announced that coordinates will finally be coming to the better together update in the form of a cheat which will turn off achievements in survival mode Bedrock Edition.
From my understanding coordinates ARE being introduced to MCPE and BT but only with cheats enabled. Why? Coordinates are SO USEFUL. Here's just a few examples. Hey new guy that just joined the world come to my base to you don't die, cant no coordinates.. Lets go mining for diamonds! wait.. no coords.. build this villager breeder 50 blocks away form all your iron farms.. ok lets count every block.. Build this mob farm platform at Y=43. Map out this huge castle and make sure all the walls are properly spaced. etc etc etc.
tl;dr we need coordinates to play and do anything large scale, build proper mob farms, or go mining. Please add coordinates to the top of the map, like how everyone else has it. -silentwisperer

New features for the popular block-building game include stained glass, fireworks, parrots, armour stands, coarse dirt, ravines, recipe books, jukeboxes, plus much more. There are also new scenarios, such as Bonus Chest and Starting Map, as well as updated game rules, player permissions, host options and tips. The update also increases the number of players using higher-end devices who can join a world, so more fans can build together.
There will initially be four servers – Lifeboat, Mineplex, InPVP and CubeCraft – with more added in the future. All servers featured in the browser will have parental controls to ensure everyone can enjoy Minecraft safely.
