Minecraft Java 1.18.1 OptiFine VS Iris Shaders (Iris + Sodium) STRESS Test with Shaders
In this video we take a look at OptiFine vs Iris Shaders (Iris & Sodium) and perform a Iris & Sodium VS OptiFine FPS Stress test with Shaders on Minecraft Java edition 1.18.1. OptiFine and Iris Shaders/Sodium are both Shader Mods for Minecraft Java that allow the installation of Shaders in the game and give good performance. OptiFine is a well known pack that works well with Forge for mods and shaders combination, while Iris Shaders has Sodium and works best with Fabric. For the shaders I used Complementary Shaders 4.3.3 & Sildur's Enhanced Default 1.13 Shaders. Use the timestamps listed below to see each benchmark. For the Final results use the timestamps below to navigate.
As shown in the video, OptiFine gave less FPS (frames per second) compared to Iris Shaders & Sodium. We got more FPS count in Iris with Shaders too. Iris Shaders has less compatibility for shaders compared to OptiFine however it has Sodium bundled which may give more FPS.
Disclaimer: The FPS shown in this video may not be guaranteed as it is dependant on your PC hardware. Sodium & OptiFine should help with increasing the FPS but it may or may not be the same result as shown in this video. Please post your pc hardware info in the comments section when you comment ;)
