The Mithril sword is NOT a one hit kill on everything until the last upgrade. Every time it is upgraded it deals one more heart of damage. When it is upgraded all 5 times, THEN it is a one hit kill on monsters like skeletons, creepers, zombies, spiders, ect.
Many new melee weapons, armor sets, and unique armor pieces obtained by killing bosses, raiding villages, crafted by using rare materials, or by using pieces of artifacts found in various places. Many upgrades and enchantments for weapons/armor as well.
Herbs will spawn like flowers or mushrooms. They can be harvested to make potions. Potions can instantly restore Heath or restore Health over time. They can also remove curses and poisons, or temporarily increase the damage you deal or decrease the damage you take.
New Bows, Arrows, and Magical Staffs. Staffs can be used to cast spells, but use up energy (food) with use. Quivers can be made, which have an infinite supply of a certain type of arrow. Extremely powerful artifact bows will even be able to enchant the arrow the arrow they are launching with fire, ice, or arcane. Ice will slow enemies, fire will set them on fire, and arcane will deal damage to all enemies within a certain area of affect. Some bows will even be able to materialize magic projectiles, so the user will not need Arrows or a Quiver.
New Biomes, each with unique monsters, dungeons, fortresses, and villages. Some villages neutral and some villages hostile. These villages will have a reputation system involved which will allow you to raise your reputation and become friendly or even in a high ranking among them. Sometimes raising reputation with one village may decrease your reputation with another village. These villages can range from small towns to massive empires, and there will be bonuses for raising your reputation and/or helping expand on these factions.
