Exploring an Abandoned Mineshaft thoroughly is a pains-taking job. The twists and turns are often aggravated by intersecting Cavern systems. Mobs often can fall from above suddenly. But as this episode shows if you are persistent you may eventually find a Chest with otherwise unobtainable Melon Seeds.

From my Abandoned Mineshaft Outpost I pick up where many Rounds of exploration have left off. I stop exploring in a direction wherever I reach the Lava Pool level (level 12). There are so many interweaving pathways...occassionally I find my way to the opposite end of a blocked off passage showing that travelling in circles is quite possible. As my inventory is just about full I find a Chest in a dead end and broken Mineshaft tunnel with a new discovery: Melon Seeds!
