December 18, 1998 - If you've been reading our site for a while, you probably happened upon a new story a while ago speculating about a Nintendo-published game called Mini Racers. Although Nintendo has not yet officially confirmed the existence of such a title, we have found more evidence of a Mini Racers game coming out on N64 in '99. Ever better, we know which developers is working on the game.

Initially, we suspected an RC Pro-Am of sorts from Rare, but the truth is that another, equally secretive development house is behind the project. Sources at Nintendo indicate that Intermetrics, the same company behind the upcoming Command & Conquer 3D is programming Mini Racers. The game is reportedly similar in style to Micromachines from Midway, with a heavy emphasis on multiplayer races.

IGN64 believes that Nintendo is planning to back the title with an extensive media campaign as the publishers has already reserved the URL www.miniracers.com for the purpose of creating an information site for the project next year.
