“Whistling Drive” is an energetic instrumental trance track that stands out with its catchy whistling motif.

The song was released as a single in 2007 and often appeared on Belgian club music compilations such as “Best Of Belgian Dance Classix.”

Fun fact: the track is unofficially referred to as “Aka Young Folks” because the whistling motif is clearly inspired by (or even sampled from) the hit song “Young Folks” by Swedish duo Peter Bjorn and John (2006).

Minimalistix is a Belgian electronic music project founded in the late 1990s by Peter Bellert, Dave Lambrechts, and Steve Sidewinder.

They gained the most publicity with their trance version of “Struggle For Pleasure” (originally by Michael Nyman), which took the European club charts by storm in 2000.

Their style is energetic trance with melodic, often nostalgic motifs, sometimes drawing on samples from classical or pop music (e.g. “Magic Fly,” “Close Cover”).

Minimalistix fits into the archetype of Benelux trance producers – like Milk Inc., Sylver, and Lasgo, they combined hit potential with a club sound.

The band won several awards on the Belgian music market, and their songs regularly appeared on compilations and in club sets around the world.
