With my limited understanding, Minty doesn't like Scout due to his damage. His damage is fine though and he is really useful to the team. His flares can light up entire rooms for more than a minute. He can actually come in clutch with his grappling hook as well. His grappling hook not only allows him to hit and run very easily, but it also allows him to get from point A to point D (get it?). He can very easily go to downed teammates and revive them especially if he has instant revive. I was able to save my whole team from a Hazard 5 Caretaker mission thanks to my grappling hook. It is extremely good. As for his damage, it is actually pretty good. Even though it isn't AoE, his single target damage is at least decent if he has the correct upgrades. He is the only class on the team that can consistently take out projectile enemies very easily. If you want to play Scout efficiently and easily like I can, just equip his Assault Rifle. It takes out enemies from far away, has good damage and decent ammo. I would not recommend using the M1000 unless you want gameplay variety or if you're doing Caretaker. Just use the Assault Rifle. It will do wonders. Another thing that you should always be doing as Scout is using the grappling hook all the time. Want to get through the map faster? Grappling hook. Want to get some nitra or some other material? Grappling Hook (call an Engineer if you need help). Getting overwhelmed with bugs? Grappling hook. About to take fall damage? Grappling hook. I think you get the point. Scout, with the right terrain and skill, can have just as much survivability as Gunner if not more. And he can help his team significantly by placing flares and taking out annoying enemies. Don't even get me started on his grenades. Easily some of the best grenades in the entire game. There is almost no reason to dislike Scout. If your team is lacking a Scout, play him. Please. Unlesssss the mission type doesn't need him. Drilldozer is an example.



Oh yeah, as for his secondary weapons use either his shotgun or his dual submachine guns. It just depends on the mission and upgrades you have on them.
