**This is a redo of the previous video I did, as it now includes the final boss battles and game ending and credits"**

Mirai Ninja is a one or two player (two player alternating turns) platform/beat em up game released in 1988 for the Arcades. It was published and developed by Namco and was only ever released in Japan. Interestingly, the game itself is based on a live action movie of the same name. Don't believe me? Here's a link to the films awesome trailer (Film is not that bad, bit cheesy, but good sci fi action fun!).

Gameplay, the Mirai Ninja has a shuriken rapid fire and a close range sword attack. Over the course of the game, he collects power orbs that have varying effects. Green orbs increase his shuriken fire power, Silver orbs, shrink surrounding enemies, Red orbs instantly kill enemies, while Yellow orbs restore health points.

Speaking of health points, the Mirai Ninja's life meter is an odd Kanji based numbering system. At full health, the kanji are white, at medium health the are yellow, while at red, they are at danger levels, If the Kanji numbers reach "00" and are red, the player dies and its game over. Thankfully, there are unlimited continues.

The game has about 12 stages in total. Some stages take place in varied environments, like open forests, to the wide ocean or to soaring high above the clouds, so the stages are very detailed. While other stages are a repeat of a previous stage. Stages 4 and 9 are a repeat of each other (a mechanical factory stage) with Stage 9 being much more difficult and lengthy (Precision platforming...arggh!).

Plotwise, The player assumes the role of the Mirai Ninja, Shiranui ; a half man/half robot cyber ninja who is on a mission to rescue kidnapped Princess Saki from the evil wizard, Ramei Hoshi, and foil his plans to sacrifice the princess, in order to resurrect the Dark Overlord, Shikinami Kurosagi (you will see his face flash briefly just before you encounter an end stage boss).

Here I do a full playthrough of this game, from start to end credits. Overall, not a bad game, just repetitive and difficult in some parts. Has great music too. Definitely worth a try, especially for fans of Shinobi type action/platform games.
