MISSING Features? Diablo III
9 features that are missing in Diablo III.... It's now officially been 4 years since Diablo 3 Reaper Of Souls was released and Blizzard Entertainment continues to support D3. Here are some new ideas.
Transcript: In celebration of Diablo 3's 4th birthday here are some features I'd personally like to see in the future in Diablo 3.
Throw in some more base weapon diversity. What happen to javelins?... Maybe save this for an expansion but definitely add some new base weapons. Show some love to old legendaries! Wipe off the cobwebs from old legendaries... I'd rather a season update that balances all the existing legendaries rather than 10 new legendary items.
Let sets roll on any weapon type (with limits e.g. 1h and 2h). I think one of the big appeals of runewords was: you could roll them in any different armor types e.g. enigma in varying 15%ed archon plates or even super low str breast plates. This would have an awesome application to D3. Give sets some variation... above ancient / stats. kinda cool to know you could roll an Inna's Daibo on....a 2 handed sword with different base stats. I'm all about that item depth.... even the 15% ed base stat would be awesome (although it might look different in Diablo 3)... also ethereal anyone?
Legendary Gem runewords! Based on past experience, D2 had crazy effects... I'd imagine D3 would be something a little more toned down... but ya it would make legendary gems you would never use on certain classes viable if the multi bonus was good enough.
Develop a business model This may seem weird to some but.... I'm assuming more funding would create more frequent content....as it stands D3 is currently running off the box price... if the box price doesn't generate enough future development funding for new expansions... which I highly doubt... don't forget D3 is the 4th highest selling PC game of all time (even excluding the WoW deal during launch)... plus the auction house raked it in for a while there.
Cap the Paragon Grind This used to exist at 100 and was locked to your character.... this made HC amazing but, was way to low for SC. I believe D2 was successful with leveling because the trip from 95 - 100 was so ridiculously long... for only a minor amount of stats, this is a good thing. The highest I ever got was probably 97, it felt awesome. Theirs a difference between 3 levels and 600. Also, knowing 3 months of leveling for 3 more would be a personal challenge, not a game changing mechanic.
Build Creativity / Diversity Diablo is supposed to be about the loot....ya?... as in loot to equip for your build's. A preplanned set and 2-3 flavor items. which more often than not reworks existing skills each season is not build diversity that's just new tools to play what already exists in a new way. It still ends up being 1 or 2 builds. Make me feel special Blizzard :).
Spending Paragon points into skill runes. This is my favorite idea... let me know what you think about this one. Let me grind my favorite skill runes into something awesome.... WW is kinda low DPS: let me grind that bad boy up! Pure Monk cyclone / sweeping wind... why the fuck not. I'd try level that up. The whole point of this would also allow legendaries not used to be good again. I would return to D3 indefinitely knowing with a little extra time I could make any skill rune as good as the average default set build.
If I stuff it up then good.... I will make another toon and experiment. Its long-term trial and error character progression depth... not handholding or instant skill swapping. look online before the season hits every best build guide strat has been discovered and released.... grinding to paragon 1000 and spending those points into runes would be amazing.
New Content! Classes | Storey | Level Caps | Items Something new. I don't know if this makes us selfish but... I kinda feel like, after 4 years, the small incremental reworks and stacking on top of existing content is cool, but I know Team 3 is capable of pushing this franchise further.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge all the awesome stuff that has been added from previous patches.
