Mission: Impossible [Nes][CompleteTheGame]
A Nes game based on the Tom Cruise movies 6 years before the first one was made?
How is that possible?
Well, you see, Mission: Impossible started as a TV series running between 1966 and 1973, and was later revived between 1988 and 1990 with a new cast, except for Jim Phelps, played by Peter Graves. They totally ruined Phelps in the movie...
As for the game, it is a good and hard game. The boat and skiing levels can easily drain your health faster than Dracula sucking a woman dry, so be prepared.
The basics of the other levels are to take out the enemies before they see you, flip some switches to turn off death-traps, gather a set of fake ID cards (two sets on the last level) and to be careful.
The first level got a bunch of civilians that you are not allowed to kill, so be careful. And watch out for the cars.
The fake IDs exist in one of two rooms, which is random every time you play it. Pick the wrong room and you will be exposed, getting attacked by strong enemies that can easily kill you, which is why Im skipping some persons if I already got the fake IDs, it is better to save your health for other enemies.
The game allows you to switch between three agents any time you want, all with their own weapons and health bar, which gives you three different playstyles.
Max Harte can shoot all across the screen and set up remote-controlled bombs, and he moves the slowest.
Grant Collier punches the enemies and throws sleeping gas, and he got the fastest speed. He is also the only one that can hack some of the locked doors. It is possible to run around with Grant and punch enemies most part of the game, but one failed step and you will lose so much health so it is not fun.
Nicholas Black is the average between Max and Grant. His boomerangs got some range, not as long as Max's bullets, and they can be curved to help you take out your enemies. His second attack allows him to disguise himself for a short period of time, which prevents most enemies from attacking you, even if you attack them. He is not as fast as Grant, but much faster than Max.
The last level is the hardest one in the game, and pure BS. It got an autoscrolling section with flamethrowing enemies that requires two hits to be defeated. And their attacks takes away half of your health.
While it is possible to get past without getting hit with some luck, you will die a lot here. And the room afterward is another autoscroller that got two cranes that tries to grab and kill you. It is possible to destroy them relatively quick, but you will still die a lot of times here.
And the best part is that at the end of this second autoscrolling room, you must destroy a hidden wall and push a hidden button. Otherwise you will be forced to replay both autoscrolling rooms. And even if you do know about this hidden button and press it, you will still be forced to play the first autoscrolled room again, with all enemies back again. I've lost count of how many times I've died on this level in the past.
The ending is at least nice, but short.
