In this my first podcast I am joined by Mithrie's Heaven FC member Shin Ryu as we discuss 'How can twitch.tv be improved?'
The focus of this discussion was to highlight my experiences as a YouTuber and a Twitcher and to suggest to twitch.tv what options they can provide to make life better for not only myself but for all streamers and viewers on twitch.tv.
The suggestions we came up with were:
1) Different levels of partnership - the current approach is all or nothing. It would be better if options like the subscribe button or encoding were offered at separate levels of viewership.
2) Paid options - if like myself, my streaming audience is not yet big enough, I would happily invest anything from $50 - $100 a month to have the encoding and a subscriber button options added to my stream until such options are offered through partnership, to give my viewers a better viewing experience.
3) Establish Twitch Bot - with the success of services like NightBot, MooBot, XanBot etc, it would be good for Twitch to make some of the most common options available on Twitch itself.
4) Encoding based on audience - rather than permanently giving only partners encoding options, they should have it auto-enable once the viewership of the current stream has hit a target of say 250+ viewers, that way resources are not wasted on partnered streamers who pull in small numbers.
I want to see twitch.tv improve for all streamers, viewers and subscribers, as they support what gamers do, I hope these suggestions can help.
