In this episode, I give my advice of how to start crafting in Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn as a new player. I also explain how crafting works and how to optimise the experience gained.

Why should you craft?
1) Repair your own gear cheaply and during combat
2) Reduce costs of finishing quests that require quest turn-ins like the Zodiac quest
3) Avoid the high prices on the market board
4) Make your own profit selling items you've crafted
5) Be independent and not have to rely on other players to acquire items

My alt character Au Rie will be leveling up all 8 crafts in the game; Carpenter, Blacksmith, Armorer, Goldsmith, Leatherworker, Weaver, Alchemist and Culinarian without any help and only using the Gil she generated herself as a new character a couple of weeks ago. Using the advice I have already shown in my New Players Gil Guide (https://youtu.be/X4hvMV6nzvg) I was able to generate 2.75+ million Gil by the time I finished the main scenario on her until the end of Patch 2.55.

My approach for levels 15 to 20 is as follows:
1) Buy Frumenty CP Food for 7 Gil from the following vendors:
Sasamero - Old Gridania X:14, Y:8
Katherine - Ul'dah - Steps Of Thal X:13, Y:9
Gerulf - Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks X:11, Y:11
Alehouse Wench - Central Thanalan X:19, Y:20
2) Buy a Company-Issued Engineering Manual for 1440 Grand Company Seals from your Grand Company
3) Make sure your gear is up to date from items you've crafted so far - Cotton Scarf, Cotton Shepherd's Tunic, Cotton Halfgloves, Hard Leather Merchant Pouch, Cotton Chauses, Ash Pattens, Copper Chocker, Fang Earrings
4) Do the Crafting Log from level 15 - 20 - take advantage of https://www.ffxivcrafting.com
5) Do the Grand Company Provisions Delivery quests daily
6) Share Level 15 Abilities - CRP Rumination, BSM Ingenuity, ALC Tricks of the Trade on all crafts
7) Do Ixali Beast Tribe daily quests
