The Alpha Numbers notices a slight dimensional distortion in Dakar, something they were familiar with during the Balmar War and theorize that something big is about to go down. Masaki suspects Shu's involvement(of course), though everyone else is still unsure that he's to blame. Regardless, they must prepare for anything on their way to assault Dakar and apprehend the Titans now that the SDF Macross is stationed there under their employ with the crew held hostage, and there's rumors of a new anti-aircraft fighter in their ranks called the Ghost that's said to be a deadly foe in a dogfight. This won't be an easy fight...

At the Macross, the Titans have idol wartime songstress Lynn Minmay making a speech attempting to hype up the Titans' rule over the Earth. She of course scathes them live onstage while disclosing her involvement in the Balmar War and firmly believes the Titans can't do jack squat for the Earth, but the SDF and Alpha Numbers can. I always did like Minmay, you know.

In a stroke of good timing, Lt. Isamu Dyson arrives in his YF-19, ready to disrupt the Titans' plans, but he runs into his old friend Guld, now on the Titans side. The two have a heated shouting match before Guld realizes he's doing his friend dirty and assists him in taking out the forces stationed at the Macross. And then the Ghosts arrive! They prove to be formidable indeed, but nothing a little Focus and some luck can't overcome!

Then the operation begins and someone's done picking flowers...
