Thanks to Hgt for helping me to save this frame (he found the ssmt strat after the glitch, and the ghost is also his)

Because of the way that section tracks are programmed in this game, tracks that have sections only calculate exact time when you cross the finish line. When you cross the lines to start the next section however, it doesn't calculate exact times, and instead your time is just based on the frame you crossed the finish line. This means that regardless of whether or not we drove a faster or cleaner flap in a TAS, we would still need to reach the next framerule and get a .466 in order to beat the RTA WR.

I looked at this category for the first time a few days ago just for fun, since I was curious whether or not it was actually possible to get a .466. I also sent the ghost of the time to Hgt so that he could maybe help with it, and when he got bored last night, he decided to play the category, resulting in the discovery of the wall ssmt strat.

There are potentially other places that releasing an mt into a wall to get an ssmt might be useful, but who really knows at this point.
