So, I finally got round to updating my MKW-SP to the latest release! I initially planned to record a comparison on Daisy Circuit, as the worldwide tops were finally all sub 1:29 in September. However, I didn't know DC doesn't work properly on MKW-SP. When I initially attempted to view the comparison on console, it just crashed. I tried dolphin instead, which loaded, but everything other than the first 4 ghosts desynced after the sc. I guess that comparison will have to wait until DC is fixed in a future update, and I have no idea how likely that is?

Fortunately for me, the Bowser's Castle worldwide tops (another top 10 I was keeping an eye on) all went down to sub 2:21 not long into October, and so I made that my next comparison instead. It is very hard to believe this is the standard of the track now, as I still fondly remember Zeke achieving the first sub 2:21 only back in Feb 2018. I say that as if it wasn't very long ago, but then I have to remind myself that that is over 5 years ago now! I hope it won't be too much longer before the first 2:19 happens.

One aspect that I am not too keen on in this current version of MKW-SP is that the stick inputs on the input display now look too shallow. This is most likely because they were too aggressive before, and I just got used to them. But I could personally see things like soft drift angles and such clearer on the old one. This was also recorded from my Wii as opposed to my usual Wii U setup. Mainly as I had just used it for the battles test, but there is also some sort of purple outline or hue on the left side of certain foreground elements. It's rarely there when I load the game through Riivolution or CTGP, but every time I've loaded this version of MKW-SP it has been present.
