MKX Kombat TIPS & TRICKS (Strategy Guide Tutorial)
This MKX Kombat TIPS & TRICKS Strategy Guide Tutorial breaks down 5 Tips to improve your gameplay skills online and off. This walkthrough showcases a wide range of tips for beginners and also poses some challenging tricks for pros.
Tip #1 (TOE JAM AND HURL) - Becoming trapped in the corner of a stage can be very frustrating. However, an awesome tip for escaping is after blocking a combo set from your opponent, immediately hit them with a few chip shots (Quick Low Strikes). Then very quickly walk up and grab them. This usually catches your opponent off guard and with give you some room to escape or even put them in the corner.
Tip #2 (JUMP JUKE) - A very effective form of offense in Mortal Kombat X is leading your attack with a jump kick. This can help dodge projectiles and defend against teleporters. To remain unpredictable however, while your opponent is blocking because he/she is expecting a jump kick, simply land in front of them and grab. This will keep your opponent guessing on how to effectively block you and may open up some opportunities for you to get off combos.
Tip #3 (ZONING) - The most common zoning mistake people do is trying too hard to utilize their character's zoning tools. So to fix that, only zone out your opponent when it is convenient for you. This could be after a distant knockdown, a throw, or at the start of a round. My other tip would be to read your opponent's play style and guess when you think he/she is going to attempt to close the distance. Right before they do, beat them to the punch.
Tip #4 (WAIT AND BAIT) - "Wake Ups" tend to catch people off guard and usually occur after a knockdown. So to take advantage of this, make your opponent think you are going to stay on the offensive after knocking them down. Then block right before they preform their "Wake Up". You will then be able to punish them immediately after blocking the attack.
Tip #5 (KOMBO STRINGS) - Combos can be stringed together by preforming a "Mix Up" starting with an overhead strike or a low strike. You have a 50% chance of landing one of the two because an opponent can only block low OR high. However, these combo strings are made even easier with specific characters that have "Re-stand" special abilities. Characters like Ermac, Quan Chi, and Scorpion can restand their opponent at the end of a combo in order to immediately perfom a "Mix Up" into a Combo String.
