Megaman Battle Network 2 | Part 6: Save Electopia from the Shadows
Yumland was wiped by Gospel and now Electopia is next.
Lan along with Chaud and any other NetBattlers head for the SciLab in Marine Harbor. They have to protect the Mother Computer but Gospel ain't going to let them save it without a fight.
We do get some help from other NetBattlers but ultimately we have to press on forward. Chaud even helps as well but even he and his navi Protoman struggle against the threat at hand. The threat I refer to as Shadowman.EXE and this guy is no laughing matter. None at all.
ShadowMan is a dangerous foe and you will need to be on the move if you're going to have any chance against him. I should mention that it's here we get access to Battle Network 2's main gimmick, Style Change.
Style Change allows Megaman.EXE to obtain a sense of variety. Depending on how you play, Megaman can transform into one of four different styles. Along with that, he has access to a different element that can change his weakness and resistances.
First is the Guts style and it occurs due to continuous Buster use. In this game, his Buster attack level is doubled and he gains Super Armor. It can be useful if you want to bring the pain.
Next is Custom style. It's obtained by focusing on either Battle Chip or Program Advance tactics. In this game, he gets access to 7 chips at the start of his turns allowing more strategy.
Third is Team Style (Brother Style in JP). This is earned if you use Navi chips more than any other. It gives the player the ability to add more Navi chips to their folder. In this game, they can insert up to 8.
Last but not least is Shield Style. That's obtained by using recovery & defensive chips. He starts every turn with a barrier that can negate one hit. By pressing B+Left, he can form a shield that can block an attack.
Battle Network 3 is where the Style Change really excels. Also, there's a weakness chain with the four elements. Aqua beats Fire, Fire beats Wood, Wood beats Electric and Electric beats Aqua. Keep this in mind. There's also one other style you can unlock but that only happens if you fulfill certain requirements.
Shadowman is beat and the Mother Computer is saved. Time for a needed vacation. See you in Part 7.
