Literally and figuratively because he was so much fun to animate, and because we had to animate him laser fast being the final sequence in production before our deadline. I’m a huge fan of Jemain Clement ‘s humor ! All his recordings were comedy gold filled with gems to work with
✨ We could make him really over the top, flamboyant and flashy
✨ Character supervised by Jennifer Hager one of my favorite animators
✨ , working with directors Ronand John John Musker who directed my favorite Disney classics ( Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Princess and the Frog, Treasure Planet, Hercules) was an absolute dream.
🌟 . There is a rejected version of blocking where maui spins around in the air after being tossed by Tamatoa. The directors wanted to make Maui feel completely drained so I ended up making him limp than flailing him around. Hope you enjoy
