This eighth, and maybe final, video in the new Mobile Friday: Apple Arcade series is on Jetpack Joyride 2. This is an exclusive game on Apple Arcade from Game Freak.

I have played the first Jetpack Joyride a lot across many different platforms. in the video i talk about playing it on Android, PS3, and PS Vita. it''s a game i had a lot of fun with and good memories of. Playing a sequel to any game held in such high regard has the potential to backfire and that was a concern of mine going into this.

for the most part, i really enjoyed Jetpack Joyride 2.my apprehension about playing it quickly melted away and by the end of the video it was like i was playing the original all over again. you'll notice i start to talk less and less as i get more comfortable playing it.

I say for the most part as there were a couple of things that need a little work. the Dynamic Island does get in the way a little, but mostly it's fine. the critical important stuff works around it. so when a character is partially obscured by it, it felt like a bit of an oversight. a few times i commented on how many items/things were on the screen. it felt like it was getting a bit overwhelming too quickly. kinda like the game's difficulty would jump up rather than ramp up. finally, there were no on screen prompts as to what buttons on the controller did what on the screen. using it in a run was fun, but navigating around the screen never felt as good or as accurate.

Overall, the additions they've made to the game seem logical and not too much of a stretch. Well, the factory is maybe a bit of a stretch. but the rest of them work great. the tone they take in the tutorial is also clever as it manages to walk the line of being approachable to new players whilst also acknowledging returning players.

Jetpack Joyride 2 isn't a graphical show piece, but it looks sharp and continues the style introduced in Jetpack Joyride very well. just looking at it and the character designs, it's easy to understand that it's a sequel. i do recommend on getting this game. much like the original, the game play is key and in Jetpack Joyride 2 they've made some tweaks that add to the loop and further enhance the original's pick up and play style of gameplay,.
