So you have your Google VR HMD set up, Cardboard Apps use the phones sensors to mimic head tracking.. Like Rift Apps.. but what if you need to play Alien Isolation over the cloud in 3D with head tracking on your Google cardboard? Here's a simple way to get head tracking over the cloud using your phone:
This solution not only lets you use head tracking over the cloud from your phone with a PC game that does not natively support head tracking.. but also allows you use your phone for head tracking duties with your Rift .. in games that would otherwise not support it..
Here I stream Alien Isolation in DX11 to the S4, running Kainy ( the streaming software) .. switching on Kainy's accelerometer function and tweaking it to your own individual needs . Giving us head tracking over the cloud which you can map through Kainy to anything you like ..
This is just one solution / test for head tracking over the cloud and also one solution for streaming real PC content to your phone ..
I am still optimizing the stream res, but a Samsung S4 Google Cardboard setup gives an astonishing level of depth in 3D .. I have also been testing Android TriDef 3D .. and stunning colours as well as less screen door and visible pixel issues than DK2 .. as expected..
