An updated game driver for Final Fantasy VII (PC) was recently released called FFNx. This fixes a bunch of compatibility issues between the game and Windows 10, adds native Xbox controller support and adds a bunch of awesome improvements to the Graphics api. The FFNx can be downloaded by itself - or - it is included with the 7th Heaven 2.2 Mod Manager (download link below).
Final Fantasy 7 has always had a fun modding community, but many have sadly been put off from getting involved due to the seemingly complicated technical processes involved in patching the game to make it moddable. However, thanks to the hard work by the various modders of recent months, today the process of patching the game is a simple one. Heck, even if you don't care about mods - updating the game's driver to FFNx is extrememly worth it due to the fact it remedies a bunch of issues present in the default FF7 game install.
