A few years ago I was feeling nostalgic, and decided to buy a PS2 again. I was fortunate enough to get this one, which is one of the few first Slims (SCPH-70004), and I got it for a pretty good deal too.

It's actually pretty funny, as, at the time, I wasn't even aware that it was special. But, as time went by and I re-entered the PS2 community forums, I came across posts about the rare Slim motherboards, with the IDE circuitry still on them, and realized that what I had in my hands wasn't just any other PS2 Slim.

As I explain in the video, it took me a while to sit down and work on this, but I eventually did, and now it is done. That's a relief. Also finishing up this description so I can finally publish this is.

Anyways, imma leave some tips I have, based on my experience with the intricacies of this procedure. If anyone ever finds them helpful, please type "I love among us" in the comments. You're welcome.

Note: The guy who discovered this, goes by the name "AUTOMAN". It's even written on the damn circuit photo, but I had a lot of shit on my mind while making this, so I only noticed/remembered halfway through editing this video, and I did not want to make the necessary changes to correct it. So, I'm writing it here. If you're reading this AUTOMAN, you're a boss. Thank you for sharing this.

Tips:

1. Use an up to date version of uLaunchELF if you want to format the drive on the PS2. Older versions don't always cooperate well. I'm currently using 4.43x_isr. Alternatively, you can also format the drive using HDL Batch Installer, which can transfer the games to it as well.

2. Use an up to date version of OpenPS2Loader. I can confirm that version 1.0.0 works.

3. If you're having problems with games not being read properly (I was having a weird issue where the games would boot, but lost their shit when they had to render 3D graphics, so they got stuck before loading stages), press the Triangle button on the game you want to play in OPL, go to Game Settings, and set the DMA Mode to MDMA0. Might make a whole video on this, as it's a shitshow of a subject.

These are all for now. I'll add some more in the next few days.

Might add subs too, since I bothered to write a script for this.

Might also make a tutorial for installing the games. If I do, I'll leave a link here in the future.

That's all for now folks. Cheers.
