Mode 7 effect in Clickteam Fusion 2 5 without extensions (Active objects only)
36This is a mode 7 effect done in Clickteam Fusion 2.5 done without 3rd party extensions and using only Actives... and 90 layers with additive effect. One per horizontal line.
Completely pointless but still interesting I guess.
Roughly, the idea is that every layer contains one IMAGE object (Luigi meme), and one MASK object (The mask object is a single image that is a big rectangle that covers the entirety of the screen and more, with one single horizontal transparent line in the middle).
It's made so that every layer only displays ONE horizontal line of the IMAGE object (masked out by the MASK object, which is two black rectangles with a single transparent line in the middle).
And all layers have the ADD effect. Thus, due to the fact that all layers are black save for one single horizontal line (because of the MASK objects), and since every layer has a different offset for the horizontal line, the resulting effect is that all layers combine into a single image, producing a mode-7-esque perspective correction.
It roughly works in the same way the actual Mode 7 from the SNES does... with a most convoluted workaround being used here because. Watch this video to fully understand how the 3D effect of mode7 is achieved: https://youtu.be/K7gWmdgXPgk?t=856
Also for fun, at 0:12 I moved the MASK objects up and down, you can see that every layer contains a copy of the IMAGE active, at a slightly different scale, and if you move the MASK objects far enough, they will all ADD together due to the layer effects.
