MW2 Gunsmith & Weapon Vault’s Explained! (FJX Cinder Weapon Vault Pre-Order Bonus)
This morning call of duty have released a blog post and a couple of clips for Modern Warfare 2 which give us information about the new gunsmith and weapon progression, the new weapon vault blueprint system and a new look at the FJX Cinder Weapon Vault that’s included with the vault edition pre-order.
In this video we’re going to go over it all but before we do please remember to leave a like on the video if you find some value and consider subscribing with notifications on to keep yourself up to date with my other Modern Warfare 2 Videos.
So this year just like usual we’re going to be unlocking our base weapons as we progress from level 1 to level 55 but this year these base weapons are going to have different platforms
Basically each platform is a different version of the weapon. So as an example the M4’s base platform is an assault rifle but by changing it’s receiver in the gunsmith it will change the weapons platform so it performs more like an smg, lmg, battle rifle or tactical rifle
Now not all weapons have the same platforms available, They’ll varey from weapon class to weapon class & Although they didn’t outright say it with-in the blog post or video, You’ll be able to equip a max of 5 attachments per weapon as well as whichever reciever you want to use.
While you’re leveling up a platform there are two different types of attachments to unlock, There are the Receivers, barrels, Stocks, Rear Grips & Magazines which will unlock for that specific weapon and will be available across each platform.
The other attachments are the Optics, Ammunition, Underbarrels, Foregrips and muzzles which when unlocked will not just unlock for that weapon but will unlock for every single weapon in the game.
So that’s a massive improvement!, you don’t need to unlock certain attachments 40 or so different times for each gun anymore, Once you unlock it the first time with whatever weapon it’ll be available on every other gun in the game.
The blog post also mentioned that there will be unlock challenges for attachments but it didn't go into specifics so i’m not to sure if there will be challenges for every attachment or just the universal attachment unlocks for every gun.
As you are unlocking attachments for your weapon there is now going to be a firing range with-in the gunsmith itself so you can test out different builds before jumping in game which is bloody awesome and more information about this will be revealed at cod next.
With all of that being said it gives us more of an understanding of what value we’ll be getting from the new weapon vault blueprints.
It’s been confirmed that these weapon vaults will include a version of every single attachment for the gun and they will have the same style and theme of that particular vault, So you can use whichever attachments you want without ruining the look of the gun.
Not all of these attachments will be usable straight away tho, The blog post states that only the weapon specific unlocks can be equipt straight away but the attachments that have a universal unlock for all weapons won’t be aloud to use the weapon vault version until that attachement is unlocked.
The blog also confirmed that the first Weapon Vault called FJX cinder is for the M4 assault rifle and will be available to check out during the beta if you pre-ordered the vault edition.
