Monster Dash Gameplay in 2021
Retro iOS Gamer Score: B (Very Good Game)
Retro iOS Gamer Note:
Gaming device: iPhone 5 with iOS 8.4.1
The game title: Monster Dash
The game original price: 0.99$
The game release date: 2010
The game description: Vampires, Demons and Mummies, oh my! ... oh and Zombies. I guess that didn't work so well, but that's ok because unlike my silly intro Halfbrick studios have made the combination work in their latest outing on the App Store, 'Monster Dash'.
The new game is ostensibly another horizontal runner and it's only slightly disappointing after the success of Fruit Ninja to see the studio playing it so safe. With that said, this runner isn't quite your average fare, with various monsters providing dangerous obstacles to kill or avoid (along with the occasional bed of spikes). Weapon power-ups give your hunter a chance to dispatch more than a handful of monsters at a time, however the real stand-out is the jet-pack gatling gun that can propel you skyward while raining down death and providing a convenient way to correct bad jumps.
The game version number: iPhone 1.30
AppStore availability: Yes - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/monster-dash/id370070561
