Take control of one of many characters (including hidden ones that require special codes or a full moon to unlock) and activate the Moon Machine in quick 2-3 hour runs. Mine ore, collect blocks to build structures, craft gear and scale mountains as you arm yourself against the deadly inhabitants. The current build has some issues with crashing during transitions and can see frame rate drops on more active sections (lot of enemies or heavy rain), but the game play is on par with something like Starbound. The only design choice that might lead to some issues involves the lack of crafting options, instead focusing on having the forges pop up in the environments. They act similarly to the vendors, which offset the possible inability to acquire pickaxes strong enough to mine silver or gold. Audio can disappear, namely the music deciding to cut out completely.

The different layouts for certain characters and unique items make each playthrough varied enough, but the main quest is always going to be the same in the end. The content limitations, audio problems and technical concerns make it hard for me to recommend, but it does have a lot going for it in terms of core game play.
