Searching on youtube for other people testing Doom randomizers, I found an oldschool one that was included in some of the numerous 90s Doom WAD shovelware CDs. That was more what I wanted, as it's not as balanced, and I like the total chaos of low tier monsters randomly swapped with Cyberdemons or Spider Masterminds, usually stuck in walls.

A long time in the video is me setting up things in Dosbox, so one should skip about half an hour later. But I keep it in the video so that you see what's the pain at first to make this work. I make three attempts at randomizing. One is setting every enemy and item at the same percentage level, but that happens to spawn too many bosses for some reason. Second attempt, I try to put low tier monsters at a bit more percentage, but still too many boss enemies. Finally, I tweak the items too, this kind makes it show lower tier enemies more frequently, while still having the occasional chaos of crazy high tier enemies everywhere.

In some of my next videos, I might also explore historically the whole map generators, as I realized there is also one here and might be much older than later more well known attempts.
