YouTube's doing an experiment where they don't publicly display the Dislike count on videos.

Meanwhile, other major platforms operate off of Likes Only as a scoring system for content without having something that reinforces toxic or negative behavior and do just fine with it.

Makes me wonder if YouTube really wants to actually revamp their Like Dislike system with such an underwhelming idea as hiding the Dislike count. đŸ€”

This is a continuation of a discussion I have every few years about whether any of YouTube's systems really do what they're supposed to do. I've had my doubts about Likes, Dislikes, Comments, and the Subscription system quite a bit over the years and I don't see any reason to stop being skeptical anytime soon. đŸ€”
