Nightwolf i have a weird history with. i was first introduced to Nightwolf where he debut in MK 3. he used to kick my ass all the time when i played against him at my friend aaron's house. He was also one of the first fatalities i was exposed to when he did his shaman light fatality obliterating my whole ass existence. He was also one of my first times doing fatalities with the lightning ax fatality in the same game. didnt know how the hell i did it i just pressed buttons till i got it. i was then exposed to him later in the second movie and he was somehow kinda cooler to me but i was hell bent on beating him and killing him in mk trilogy after that. just like in those games, in this one, nightwolf has plenty of range to work with. we actually dont see the man again until deception where he makes a sudden return but only acting as a link that kept liu kang's soul connected to the living world and using his shaman powers to be possessed by liu until he could reunite him with his body thats now rampaging through the realms. thats his entire thing for why he even returned because the dude does nothing else for a long period of time till major crisis happen. he comes back again in MK9 with a more grounded role while kinda seeming separated from the events of everythng. he gets one fight with scorpion at first during the tournament and loses, and then comes back again towards the end of the third part where he now can beat noob saibot, quan chi, sektor and sindel (where he unalives himself doing so) he's there briefly in mkx and comes back again in mk11 and a plays a bigger role in mk aftermath. it feels like they dont know what they want to do with the guy except as a kind of wise man who occasionally assists raiden and fujin. i like playing with him in this game. he feels just as effective as he did in mk 3 which is kind of impressive because despite the different platforms they kinda feel the same between the 2 games.
