Part 3 - The Mines And The Other Two Portal Trials
We pick up in the desert at the end of the chapter, and we meet something called a Starthing which will help us along the way. Not long through the desert, we come across the second portal trial, and head through to meet our frog friend. This time our reward for completing the trial is a new sword, with a more of a fencing attack animation, and the ability to shoot a beam with the help of the reader's charge. We aren't sure if we like it, but we decide to test it out, as we go into the mines. The mines are home to a new type of enemy, an exploding tick sort that wants to ruin our day. We have to use these ticks to blow up rocks blocking our path, and to hit switches we aren't supped to be able to hit, but kind of can with our new sword power we just got. Once we make it through the mines, we are nearing the castle, but it's protected with sentinels that look like giant eyes and will blast us on sight if they see us. We need to move quickly, and block their vision when we can, and make it to the town square. There's a huge one we need to shut down by gaining two power sources and putting them in the center statue. We grab one from the church, after some more puzzling using the enemies to help, and then head for the second one in the pub, but stumble across the final portal along the way. This final trial has us fighting a boss, and rescuing the hero of legend, for our own place in the legendary story. We say goodbye to our frog friend, and head back to our land, and decide to take a break here for now. We will finish our epic journey, next time.
