I play a commander battle in the new $10 expansion (I refuse to call it "DLC") for Mount & Blade Warband called Napoleonic Wars.

Mini-review:
It's a little rough around the edges (units need to be spaced out more at the beginning of a match, and orders don't work 100% of the time), but quite fun. The Commander Battle mode is really a first-person strategy game, as you issue orders for your regiment to move, advance (or retreat), change formation (double line, spread out), and coordinate fire. On servers that have friendly fire, you have to be careful not to stand in front of (or in back of) allied units. I've found people online to be pretty coordinated, and flanking the enemy is a great tactic (as in real life).

The game has infantry, cavalry, and artillery units, and the larger battles are quite epic (the game supports up to 200 players at a time). I like the detailed unit models and the smoke that rises on the battlefield as musket shots rain across the landscape. The expansion also includes more traditional deathmatch modes, but commander battles are the way to go, especially if you dig this time period and/or strategy games (I just filter out all the other game types). The game is focused on multiplayer, but there is also an offline battle mode to practice on (no campaign, though, which would have been really cool). For $10, I would recommend it.
