It’s Day 7 in The Long Dark Misery Mode, and survival is getting harder. The extreme cold and constant danger have taken their toll, and I’ve now contracted Rheumatic Joints—a permanent affliction that slows me down. Movement is sluggish, and every step through the snow feels like a battle.

The good news? I’ve managed to forge tools and arrowheads, finally giving me the means to hunt and defend myself. The bad news? The wolves are still out there, and slow movement in Misery Mode is a death sentence.
