Mr. Bones - Sega Saturn - Intro and stages 1 - 4 gameplay PAL version [HD 1080p 60fps]
Mr. Bones is a rather odd mix of genres at its core it is however a platform game with an excellent music score. Which was created by the late Ronnie Montrose a musician and guitarist for the band Montrose, he also appears in one of the cut scene as the blind man playing the guitar. Mr. Bones also features high quality FMV which includes motion captured for some of the characters. Sadly the gameplay lets down the other areas of the game, the difficulty is unforgiving on some stages and it’s not clear what you are supposed to do on some levels.
The European and USA versions appear to have been rushed out for a 1996 Christmas release and the Japanese version released in 1997 fixes a number of issues found with the western one. Perhaps due to the fact the game had more a Halloween theme than a Christmas one the game sold rather poorly in Europe on it's release in 1996. The PAL version is also rather uncommon and isn’t the cheapest game to buy. It’s also totally unoptimised so run perfectly as 60hz. Impressively the game also hits 60fps on a number of stages.
