Mr. Prepper - Forcing a Last know good save
2WARNING!
On release (and currently) the DLC is BROKE AF. One of the many glitches/bugs is a loss of progress glitch reverting to a previous save. This seems to happen when the game crashes (mostly fishing or in the maze. If you faint in the maze its almost guaranteed)
I have found a way to force a "last known good save" that works 95% of the time.
1. Sleep or Nap so the game says "Saved" at the lower right. then wait 10-30 seconds.
2. Press Start & "Exit to menu" then select continue to see what day you are on, then back up.
3. Go into the Options and change any setting & then hit X to Apply. you will notice a circular Icon appear.
4. Press the Xbox home button, manage the game, & choose Quit.
5. Wait 10-30 seconds and restart the game. DO NOT spam through ANY of the loading screens. Spamming through them almost always resulted in the "New Game" glitch for me. (which is another process I had to learn to get around)
The game seems to make a "last known good save" tag or something on the first save file you load in on that session, so if the game crashes, it resorts to this "last known good save" no matter how many hours have passed, or how many actual in game saves were made. For a save to REALLY stick, you have to exit the game currently.
