"Renaissance In Renewables, Fact Or Fiction?" took place at the 7th Edition of the Future Investment Initiative on October 24th, 2023.

As renewables ramp up rapidly, the need for energy storage for stable 24x7 supply is growing accordingly. While the Middle East climate is ideally suited for solar and wind deployments, the same climate makes it challenging to use lithium-Ion batteries for storage due to their inherent flammability and resulting toxic gases, in addition to being highly expensive. What is needed are inexpensive and high-performance alternative storage technologies that are non-flammable and non-toxic, enabling large deployments of renewable supply. This availability and abundance of low-cost power will attract industries to the region that are significant consumers of electricity
