虫姫さま / Mushihimesama Original 1CC (S-Type Ship)
21 credit clear of the Original mode of Mushihimesama, an arcade bullet hell shmup developed by Cave and published by AMI in 2004. This is a survival run with no emphasis on score.
This run was weird. I died in really random places in levels 2, 3 and 4 without even realizing I was in danger. This can happen, as the enemy bullets are quite fast in Original mode, but having this repeat three times was very frustrating. You can see how I nearly restarted after my first death (opening the menu), but then decided to push on. At my skill level, losing three whole lives by early level 4 meant a 1CC was still doable, but I had to play my best. Somehow it all came together by the end :)
Played on Steam (Mushihimesama HD version 1.1.9.2.) using an 8BitDo Arcade Stick.
Apparently there's a bug (a mushi!) in the Steam version where if you pause during gameplay, the saved replay data will desync and end with a random death. Sadly I didn't know this and so I can't record (or view) the run in better quality :( Luckily I was recording my attempts anyway so there's a video and I don't need to endure going through this again lol.
