I was fooling around with a Tucana Lead preset on ye olde Axe-FX last night and wondered how much of a difference pickups would make with it. So out came the closest Ernie Balls and voila. I simply jammed loosely over the entire backing tack (thank you Jamtrackcentral.com) four times and then cut and paste the lot together. It's loose as hell but interesting (to me..!) My favourite guitar? Too hard to choose as they all play beautifully but have different sonic charms. I have another four or five different models here (again, all Ernie Ball Music Man) so I'll repeat this indulgence in a week or so with them.

All guitars are stock and with the exception of the Axis which a 2010 model, are all 2016 models.

The Axe-FX XL+ was used as tone generator and soundcard and I recorded the lot in Logic in 24/48. I used Waves L3-16 "Basic 1" preset to master the audio. Final Cut Pro X did the editing duties.

The Axe-FX patch can be downloaded from http://axechange.fractalaudio.com/detail.php?preset=5571
