You have to work quickly after Veil of Mist's required animation time is over, or the 8th Power Slash will not combo with Standing Forward H.

Okami Shuffle and Air Okami Shuffle have a range of damage and hits. This video includes combos of 38-42 hits, but you can get less with this combo sequence. I think I've gotten 42 hits with this combo only once as of the post date of this video.

If you want to use only 1 Hyper Comgo Gauge Stock, finish with a Head Charge instead of Air Okami Shuffle.

In competitive play, yes, your opponent will have to be pretty unexpecting to fall for this combo. While you might not be able to get all 8 Power Slash L out, if you happen to catch your opponent off guard and use fewer, you can finish this combo in the same fashion.
