MW3 Season 2: Everything You Need to Know
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) is getting ready for its second season of content, which will bring a lot of new features and updates to the game. Whether you play the core multiplayer, the War mode, or the Zombies mode, there is something for everyone in MW3 Season 2. Here is everything you need to know about the release date, the roadmap, the patch notes, and more.

Release Date
MW3 Season 2 will launch on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM GMT. This is the exact time when the current Season 1 Battle Pass will end, so make sure you complete all the challenges and unlock all the rewards before then. You can also expect a pre-load option to download the update before it goes live.

Roadmap
The official roadmap for MW3 Season 2 has been revealed by Activision, and it shows a lot of exciting content coming to the game. Here are some of the highlights:

Four new core multiplayer maps: You will be able to play on four new 6v6 maps, each with its own theme and layout. The maps are: Canyon, a desert map with long sightlines and verticality; Harbor, a remake of the classic MW2 map set in a snowy port; Mall, a close-quarters map set in a shopping center; and Terminal, another remake of the iconic MW2 map set in an airport.
Two new multiplayer map variants: In addition to the new maps, you will also get two new variants of existing maps. The first one is Nightfall, which is a night version of the map Fallout. The second one is Snowstorm, which is a winter version of the map Storm.
A new War map: War mode is getting a new map called Invasion, which is set in a city under siege. You will have to fight your way through the streets, buildings, and rooftops, while capturing or defending objectives. The map will also feature dynamic events, such as airstrikes, artillery, and helicopters.
Five game modes and a ‘Vortex’ playlist: MW3 Season 2 will introduce five new game modes to the multiplayer. The modes are: Capture the Flag, a classic mode where you have to steal the enemy flag and return it to your base; Demolition, a mode where you have to plant or defuse bombs at two sites; Drop Zone, a mode where you have to hold a zone and earn care packages; Gun Game, a mode where you have to get a kill with every weapon in a random order; and Infected, a mode where one player starts as a zombie and has to infect the others. You will also be able to play all these modes in a special playlist called Vortex, which will have random weather effects and map rotations.
A new season of Ranked Play with new rewards: Ranked Play is returning to MW3, and it will let you compete with other players in a skill-based matchmaking system. You will be able to rank up from Bronze to Master, and earn exclusive rewards, such as emblems, calling cards, and skins. Ranked Play will be available for both multiplayer and Warzone.
New Vest: MW3 Season 2 will introduce a new Vest called Blackcell, which will give you a unique ability and a passive perk. The ability is EMP Blast, which will disable all enemy electronics and vehicles in a large radius. The perk is Hacker, which will let you hack enemy equipment and turn it against them.
New Zombies content: Zombies mode is getting a lot of new content in MW3 Season 2, including a new story mission, a new map, a new boss, and a new perk. The story mission is called Outbreak, and it will continue the saga of the Omega Group and the Dark Aether. The map is called Sanctum, and it will take you to a secret underground facility where the Omega Group is conducting experiments. The boss is called Behemoth, and it is a massive creature that can crush you with its tentacles. The perk is called Tombstone, and it will let you revive yourself after being downed.
Returning map Fortune’s Keep for Warzone: Warzone is getting a new map update, which will bring back the popular map Fortune’s Keep from MW2.
