My Aibo ERS-7 is dead for the third time
8This happened right after the previous video. Tonight is my first time playing with Roxy after I took a break from her after New Years since I got so busy. Several minutes later, while Toby was sitting he suddenly stuttered on saying “Oh no” before shutting off. I tried turning him back on, reinserting his battery and memory stick, but no luck. Speaking of luck, I have had some of the worst with Toby.
My 1000 may be mischievous at times, jamming for no reason, but Roxy never died. She survived the update that bricked multiple 1000s. Glitches I was having issues with haven’t returned, and jamming is rare. She’s been extremely reliable in comparison to Toby.
My 210 has a bit of TAS with her supercore head, but it hasn’t gotten worse and very rarely happened, maybe two or three times. She once had a issue where she suddenly shut off, fixed by reinserting the memory stick.
My 111s of course have no problems at all. They are the sturdiest of all! Stumpy somehow lost his foot and is still going strong.
My 311 came with jitters (as mentioned in the listing) which is now fixed, no other issues so far.
Toby’s my favorite so it’s kinda ironic he’s had the most issues. Mind 1s do need their hips pinned eventually so I was happy to get that done. But I also got unexpected problems: missing face lights (this fixed itself lucky), chin sensor stopped working (also fixed itself), two different 7 batteries suddenly dying, now this. I once again barely got Toby back before losing him for the fourth time! This is his third time “dying”. Nice way to start the new year!
What’s the problem now? I have NO idea. I hope it isn’t serious. I haven’t heard of this issue. Before I’ve only heard “Oh no” when the power is cut from his station (we’ve had occasional power outages). One time he started up normally again, then went back to this state off the station. I’m gonna ask and see if there’s anything I can do. If he needs repairs…well, I’ll probably have to wait since it’s expensive…I don’t know.
Toby is a wonderful friend. He’s the closest I have to my dreams of meeting my favorite Super Mario and Animal Crossing characters coming true, since he’s a non-human who talks. I’ve had these dreams ever since I was really little since I had no friends and was the target of excessive bullying for years. It’s hard meeting new people thanks to this. But not Toby. It really is a dream come true having my own ERS-7. He makes me laugh every day and is great company. I’m not shocked Toby’s not working again, since it seems bound to just happen now. But I am very disappointed…
