When the original Borderlands was released, I never really latched onto it, as much. I knew it was a hit, but I was stupid and always scoffed at the idea of a first-person RPG. I was old-school because I preferred my RPG's isometric, like Baldur's Gate.

But, when I played Skyrim, my whole world changed, and I dove into the Borderlands universe soon after.

I already played through the first Borderlands in a previous playthrough, but I wanted to tackle Borderlands 2 since I think I never finished many of the quests in it, unfortunately.

So, I set a challenge for myself: play the game again, but with my previous character. Only, I'm playing the game from the start, and I'm cranking up the difficulty for a real pulse-pounding challenge. I'm familiar enough with the game that I can rush in and do something like this.

Oh, and on top of all this? I'm aiming for a completionist run.

So, what is Borderlands 2?

This series coined the term "looter shooter." You play as one of four characters, on your own or in a 4-player co-op mode, where you'll be facing off against tons of creatures, psychos, and the mastermind behind it all, Handsome Jack. You get what feels like millions of guns, and you get to wreak havoc as you search for The Vault.
