The AVerMedia C027 (or MTVHDDVRR) was my first capture card. I bought it in 2010 to capture games like Call of Duty 4, Halo: Reach, etc. from Xbox 360 and PS3. Turns out it has some pretty neat tricks up its sleeve, but it's definitely not perfect. BUT it does compete with capture cards released even today.
