My Home Debut in the ATL
The Braves' new Ace makes his official home debut in the ATL, as his team faces their division rivals, the New York Mets. Their rivalry was fierce throughout the late 1990s and 2000s. Their first encounter was in 1969 where the "Miracle" Mets swept the Braves in the NLCS and won their first World Series title, prior to the division realignment. After the realignment, the Braves dominated the 1990s and evened the score against the Mets in their second Postseason encounter in the 1999 NLCS. The rivalry intensified in 2000 when one of the Braves' closing pitchers expressed his personal feelings about the Mets and their homestate, which they fought tooth and nail over the division and the wild-card. The rivalry may have cooled down in 2001, but it will rise up again now that the Braves has signed an formidable Ace to strengthen their defense, as he goes on the mound for his 35th Aces Duel of his career with his record against Ace pitchers unblemished
