My Klezmer Fiddle...on JLTV!
As a change to my usual ancient-themed lyre music, here is an excerpt from the opening of the movie "My Grandfather's Prayers" currently being broadcast on JLTV - which features my klezmer fiddle playing as the theme music!
The two tracks of my solo klezmer fiddle which featured throughout the movie ("Yiddish Hora" with which the movie opens & later, "Khosid Dance" - a rare, surviving Hungarian Klezmer melody), were from my 2011 album, "Echoes of the Shtetl":

"My Grandfather's Prayers" produced by Lisa Sturz, is a theatrical production based on the life of Cantor Izso Glickstein (1890-1947), a Jewish Ukrainian prodigy who settles in Boston, where his powerful golden voice expresses the passion and determination of a people holding on to faith and tradition through the violent diaspora of the 20th century.
His granddaughter, Lisa Sturz, uses shadow puppets, scrolling backgrounds, marionettes, floating images, oversized props, digital effects and text to tell Glickstein’s story — from surviving pogroms in his native Ukraine to revered celebrity status in Boston. In the process, Sturz explores her own ancestry, artistry, spirituality and social responsibility

My interest in klezmer fiddle (the traditional Jewish instrumental music once played in the shtetls of old eastern Europe) was part of the beginning of the story of how I recorded my debut 2008 album, "King David's Lyre; Echoes of Ancient Israel" - in this first release, I decided to evoke the sound of what ancient Biblical music may once have sounded, by arranging for my modern evocation of the 10 string Biblical kinnor; mostly a selection of some of the traditional klezmer melodies I first knew as a klezmer fiddler (hence the original 'Klezfiddle1' username URL of my YouTube channel!).
Indeed, the sound of the ancient modes still heard today in traditional Jewish klezmer music fitted the 10 strings of my Biblical lyre so perfectly, that I have a hunch that the origin of these ancient modes themselves may have originated on the original Biblical kinnor? A fascinating possibility!
