My Nintendo Wii Game Collection
What you see here in this video is not my original intent. I did not intend on making a Wii collection video but rather a review of the Wii console. I took up almost an entire day just capturing footage from every one of my games for the purpose of my review. I sat down and wrote out the whole plan and script for the review and trashed it after I started to execute the review. I decided In the beginning I really wanted to do it and lost all desire to do so by the time it was time to really put it all together.
So since I captured all this footage of my Wii games, I decided to salvage what I had already done and still make something out of it. In all seriousness console reviews have been way over done on You Tube especially the Wii whether they are good or not. Most of them not, but still. Everybody knows what the Wii is and what it looks like. You can find many many Wii collection videos on You Tube, but not many like this one. Instead of showing you what the case and instructions look like, I show you what the game looks like. After all the most important thing to a game console is it's games and how they play. Not the box art.
I don't plan to switch to doing modern game reviews or even doing any other console reviews. I found what I ultimately wanted to do is share the greatness of the Nintendo Wii. Many gamers renounce the Wii's existence mainly because of the last gen graphics, less than robust online experiences, gimmicky motion controls, the giant selection of absolute crap titles in the Wii's library, and lack of convenient non-gaming features like playing DVDs and such. Yes. I can agree to all those things. If you're looking for cutting edge graphics, online gaming, and want your game console to be a hub for all other types of entertainment, then yes the Wii is wrong for you. If you enjoy single player, local multiplayer and don't mind looking at last gen visuals, there's something for you here. Not all games have gimmicky controls. Many Wii games do, but many Wii games are 3rd party vomit. There are many great first and 3rd party games for the Wii. The only catch is you have to find them in the sea of abomination full of awful games. I like every game I own for the Wii except for Red Steel. I got it cheap and it was actually a fun shooter. However adapting to the sluggish controls gets harder and harder each time I try to play it these days.
Anyway that is my opinion of the Wii. It's one of my favorite consoles. The games that are good have great motion controls that aren't gimmicky in the slightest and are very fun and engaging. To each his own. This certainly is not all the games I intend to get for this console. Since I am a retro gamer, buying retro games takes priority over current consoles as they can be very hard to find. I will eventually pick up Zelda Twilight Princes, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Donkey Kong Contry Returns, Conduit 2, Boom Blox Bash Party and whatever else I think of. I look forward to Bit.Trip Complete, Kirby Wii and Zelda Skyward Sword. I never pay 50 bucks for any game so I wait to either find it new on Amazon for at least 20 or more bucks off the MSRP or buy them used somewhere for a good price. Usually not Gamestop, but some times they screw up and have a good deal on something. However I think I will pay full MSRP for Bit.Trip Complete because they are just amazing games. Thank you for watching.
