Warhawk? No this isn't Warhawk. Warhawk is that game on the PS3 that is an online only P.O.S. No.....this is in fact Warhawk on the original Sony Playstation. This was one heck of a launch title. Beautiful 3D graphics, great sound, and great controls. The only thing that isn't so great about this game is the live action full motion video cut scenes. Back then they didn't believe in games that didn't have full motion video. So if you wanna know somewhat of what the story is, you'll need to watch them. I removed them from this video because while they're actually better than most, I didn't want half the video to be FMV and not game play.

So this is a brief video of this awesome game because it would be extremely long if I had shown the second level. The levels in this game are pretty long which adds to it's difficulty but also makes the game a nice length since it's only 6 levels long. Not to worry, the makers of Twisted Metal have included a short password option cleverly placed in the pause screen. I never really noticed this until recently and was glad I did because this game is tough. Tough, but ever so fun. The controls are incredibly complex and do take some time getting used to especially if you've become too accustomed to dual analog controls since there are none in this game. In the game's defense this was a launch title released well before the first dual shock controller. The level design is absolutely out of this world and the graphics still make my jaw drop, especially the last stage. The sound is absolutely perfect.

I don't know why the modern version of this game strayed away so much from the original because it would have been an absolutely stellar idea for a new game. Of course any game today that has a robust single player is destined to fail if there is no online component of some sort. Rest in peace Warhawk. I will always remember you as the awesome launch title of one of the greatest consoles ever made.
