My Power Strike Hybrid Amazon for Diablo 2 Resurrected
00:23 background, 1:29 about the build, 2:20 why Amazon, 3:33 skill tree, 5:12 attributes, 6:36 spear, 8:16 bow, 9:46 belt and boots, 11:14 gloves, 12:15 rings, 13:17 amulet, 13:33 helmet, 14:23 rune words, 14:43 reason for no Kraken Shell, 15:47 Lionheart, 16:03 Enigma vs Chains of Honor, 18:24 Fury (spear), 19:50 Hand of Justice, 20:43 Breath of the Dying, 22:03 Zephyr (bow), 22:56 Breath of the Dying vs Faith
I worked out a build that is different from what I did in the original D2. This build will be using a 2H spear and feature the ability to switch damage types. The end goal is to create a build and plan to get someone from start to end game
The TLDR edition:
132 Strength, and 152 Dexterity is the target. You should have 111 points to dump in to Vitality by level 70. You want to aim for 200 Vitality as you get further in levels. After that you are free to put it in to Strength if you wish to use equipment that I am not using
Edit: Someone pointed out a mistake I made and I happily accept that. I had my brain on the wrong thing and meant to say 134 Strength. That will ensure the build can use a Hydra Bow/Windforce with some +Dexterity Items. It also ensures the build can use Javelins of any kind should it become necessary (bad RNG with loot or just leveling purposes). That leaves 109 points for vitality. I am ok with losing 40 life to ensure the build works with various weapons and can be changed by another person (to make it work for them). Matriarchal Spear only requires 114 Strength, and the Balrog Spear 127. I am overkilling a little but so be it (that is where the life number came from)
For Abilities, you are going to put 20 points in to Magic Arrow, 1 point in Jab, 1 point in Poison Javelin, 1 point in Lightning Bolt, 20 in Power Strike, 1 Charged Strike, 20 Lightning Strike, and 1 in to all Passives BESIDES Inner Sight, Slow Missile, Decoy, and Valkyrie. After that is up to you
I forgot to explain it in the video but Magic Arrow turns some of your physical damage in to a damage type that is rarely resisted. In addition.. It does not consume ammo and it costs 0 mana at level 13 or so. Think of it as a super auto attack
Use whatever equipment you can get your hands on. When you can your end goal should be..
Helmet: Griffon's Eye. Harlequin Crest is an ok alternative. That will make you tankier where as Griffon's Eye is for more damage
Necklace: Life and + Skill if possible. If magic find happens to roll with those then great
Chest: Lionheart is your budget option. You want Chains of Honor when you can
Gloves: Look for Attack Speed. If + skill or magic find happens to roll then awesome. If this is not possible then use Laying of Hands (set item)
Rings: Nagel Ring or Magic Find Rings for farming. Bul Kathos Wedding Band and Raven Frost for combat
Belt: Verdungo's Hearty Cord
Boots: War Traveler
Spear: Matriarchal Pike. Fury for budget. Though Fury is the budget it guarantees the highest hit percent for PvE and PvP. You want to use Hand of Justice of Breath of the Dying when possible. Hand of Justice is utility. Breath of the Dying is raw damage
Bow: Grand Matron Bow. Zephyr for budget. Use Faith or Breath of the Dying when you can manage that. If you want to create a separate bow for Edge to reduce vendor prices you are welcome to do so
Faith: Assuming a level 15 Fanaticism roll, you will get 33% attack speed, 330% damage from the Rune Word, and 288% from Fanaticism. While it does more damage than Breath of the Dying, it doesn't have the Attack Speed (33% vs 60). Magic Arrow is based on physical conversion so Faith could be better but it is situational
Edit: I am keeping an eye on Stoneraven (unique). With the Lazruk quest you can socket it. That would allow for a Jah or Gul rune to be inserted. The issue is that it is a Slow attack spear compared to the normal of other Matriarchal Pikes. M'avina's True Sight may be needed for that which would likely hurt the lightning damage (it is 30% attack speed by itself)
I forgot to mention why Matriarchal Spear instead of Thunder Stroke (Javelin). That Javelin has 2 reach while the Spear has 4 reach. It makes melee easy for that reason and because of the high physical damage. Should this build need to use Jab, it would be best on the Spear over the Javelin
This build can built in many different ways. I recommend starting as a Bowazon then branching out to your Spear in the late game
If doing that be aware that Multi Shot can do less damage than Exploding Arrow or Freezing Arrow. That would require more point investment though (Multi shot is a 1 point jump). You will have +6 to skills through your items before charms (end game)
